If you’re looking to buy or invest in the Sunshine State capital, here are the top Brisbane Suburbs primed for growth this year.


1. New Farm/Teneriffe

New Farm is a trendy suburb with many amenities at your fingertips, where you don’t need a car. Close to the Brisbane CBD, this city-centric suburb boasts a combo of beautiful well-maintained old-world homes and modern apartments and units. Plenty of   cafes, restaurants and the popular New Farm Park is within a short distance. Brisbane Powerhouse is also located in New Farm and offers a range of entertainment options and weekend markets. The CBD and other popular neighboring suburbs are all easily accessible with regular bus services and the CityCat terminal. 2. Ascot

Ascot is a well established suburb in the Brisbane city, characterized by its collection of beautiful, large Queenslander homes. It’s another suburb with an iconic café strip, strong school catchment and an easy train or ferry ride into the CBD. Labeled as the 12th most walkable suburb in Brisbane according to Resolution Research, Highgate Hill is a highly sought-after Brisbane State High School catchment and has a great connectivity via buses and trains. Following West End, the suburb is lining with new developments of cafes, bars and trendy shops. Despite being close to major activity hubs, the hilly suburb still holds onto its more relaxed, suburban vibe which is a huge part of its appeal. 4. Wilston

Wilston is a well-kept secret pocket suburb with lots of character Queenslander homes filled mostly with working families. Central to the city, this area provides easy living with a railway line running conveniently by the suburb as well as having several bus routes heading into the CBD. The airport is also located in this side of the city and the links to go to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast are   easy to connect to. Wilston is home to a vibrant café strip with hospitals, parks and schools all within radius. 5. Ashgrove

Well-known for its leafy streets, hilly terrain and Ashgrovian houses, Ashgrove is located approximately 4km north-west from the Brisbane CBD and stretches from the   bordering suburbs of Red Hill, New Market, Alderley, Bardon and the Gap. The opportunities for nature-based activities are excellent as the suburb sits close to the foothills of the eastern side of Mt Coot-tha with many parks, sporting fields and nature reserves in the area. 6. Taringa

Boasting a great sense of community and peacefulness that most inner city suburbs don’t offer, Taringa is a small, leafy green suburb up-and-coming for families and young   professionals. This suburb is popular with most demographics due to its close proximity to parks, popular amenities, excellent public transport and convenient access to Moggil Road (Providing easy access to the CBD and Western Freeway). 7. Tarragindi

Mostly with residential housing, this family friendly, hilly, green neighborhood also provides small coffee shops, beauty salons and small retail stores for the locals with a convenient ease of access to Garden City Shopping Center. Locals can also benefit from Tarragindi’s close proximity to the South East Busway as well as the new metro which follows along the M1 motorway – meaning it only takes around 15 minutes to get a bus into the CBD. 8. Holland Park

11. Mansfield

11km southeast of the Brisbane CBD, Mansfield boasts a friendly, warm neighborhood with an abundance of leafy streets and parks. One of it’s strongest draw cards is its   prominent position in the highly-sought after Mansfield State High School catchment. The location enjoys close proximity to other popular schools including Mount Gravatt East State School and Citipointe (co-educational schools). There is great access to public transport with buses that go directly to the city and to the Garden City interchange. 12. Stafford

Stafford is a suburb full of character where you will find a mix of old and modern houses. Located approximately 7km from the CBD, all your essentials and entertainment are all   easily accessible by car or by foot including cinemas, parks, shopping centers, sporting facilities and more. Stafford is host to several great schools and a number of parks and green spaces that are situated conveniently for families to enjoy. 13. Chermside West

Chermside West offers the best of both worlds: Located 10km north of Brisbane CBD, it’s close to retail and business hubs but also offers a quiet retreat from its busier neighboring suburbs. This area is home to Chermside Hills Reserves which comprises over 129 hectares of parklands and nature reserves complete with walking and bike   trails. Locals are also within walking distance of hospitals, major shops, restaurants and public transport links. Australia’s 5th largest Westfield Shopping Center Chermside is also located less than 4km away and the area also shares close proximity to the top two employment hubs: CBD and the Australia Trade Coast (ATC). The CBD is now more easily accessible than ever before as the suburb benefits from new major infrastructure – specifically the $4.8 billion Airport link road which has greatly reduced traffic congestions.


14. Keperra

Located approximately 9km north-west from the Brisbane CBD, Keperra is a friendly, leafy suburban hub with seventeen parks covering nearly 18.2% of the total area. The area has two train stations – Keperra railway station and Grovely railway station   providing easy access along the Ferny Grove and Beenleigh rail lines. Their main shopping precinct is the Great Western Super Center – as well as Woolworths and Aldi, the center has a wide variety of retail stores and essentials such as a medical center, pharmacy, news agency and petrol stations. Brookside Shopping Center and also The Gap Village where you can find larger outlets are also situated very close to the area. Due to its affordability Keperra is increasingly popular for young professionals and   families due to the proximity to parks, other suburban hubs and the CBD. There are many desirable pockets within the suburb that are both within walking distance to the train station but far away enough to not be impacted by the railway noise and many of these quiet streets are lined with post-war homes that are either being renovated or removed with new homes ready to be built in their place by younger families.
